Friday, July 25 – Lake Geneva with a 6-3 win over Sheboygan.
Alex Johnson pitched a complete game win, spreading 7 hits over 7 innings, and getting first pitch strikes to 20 of 29 batters
Joey Pacholczak had 2 RBIs as a DH
LG collected 8 hits on offense aided by a couple Sheboygan errors to score 6.
Defensively, the LG defense was spectacular and had 0 errors in the game.
LG jumped to a 2-0 lead, then fell behind 3-2, but bounced back to take a 4-3 lead and then add on to 6-3 before Johnson shut down Sheboygan in top of the 7th.
Saturday, July 26 – Appleton beat Lake Geneva 6-2.
LG jumped out to a 2 run lead in the Bottom of the 2nd on 2 RBIs by DH Joey Pacholczak.
Offense sputtered after that for rest of the game and Lake Geneva finished 1 for 21, with 4 walks and 8 strike outs.
Liam Poetzinger pitched 7 inning complete game in the loss and gave up 9 hits, 1 walk, registered 3 strikeouts
Appleton scored 6 runs, but 4 of them were unearned, with the LG Defense struggling and giving up 4 errors in the game.
Sunday, 7/27 – Lake Geneva with a 13-8 win over Manitowoc
* Got out to a 1-0 lead, but yielded 3 runs in the bottom half of first.
Then got a Solo Home Run by Austin Hayes to Left Field on 2-0 count to lead off the 2nd inning and draw
Scored 4 in the top of 4th
*Austin Hayes doubled off the wall in left Center with Ryan Carlson advancing to third.
*Evan Schlitz then hit a 3 run home run to deep left field for his first of 3 HRs and 7 RBIs on the day!!
Scored 2 in the top of 6th on a 2 run HR by Evan Schlitz
Scored 4 runs in the top of the 7th
*Back-to-Back-to-back Singles by Austin Hayes, Alex Johnson, and Aidan Flannery, with Aidan collecting 2 RBIs on his single in plating the other two players.
*Then Evan Schlitz hit his 3rd Home Run of the Day (2 run home run) again to deep left field.
Lake Geneva finished with 17 hits, 5 walks and only struck out 2 times
Austin Hayes was only a triple short of hitting the cycle, and Evan Schlitz went 3-4 with 3 HRs and 7 RBIs!!
